    Construction Inspection Services I-64 ATL from US-150 to Spring Street in Floyd County, Seymour District, Contract R-42570 (Design Build, Low Bid) DBLB
    INDOT anticipates needing four (4) Engineers. One to be the lead project engineer overseeing the entire project and making all final decisions. The Second engineer will be designated as office engineer handling 100% of all the normal project paperwork keeping office records up to date, including but not limited to material records, Change Orders, Notice of Changing Conditions, Claims and all things Site Manager. The third engineer will be 100% dedicated to ESC (Erosion and Sediment Control Activities) oversight, including but limited to, Quality Adjustment Enforcement, Inspection, Inspection Reviews and Approvals, etc. The fourth engineer will be 100% dedicated to all things related to Maintenance of Traffic Operations, including daily MOT reviews, reviews / approval of weekly temp. traffic control devices, etc. Three (3) full time project supervisor, three (3) full time Senior project inspector, five (5) full-time inspectors (April – November) for all construction seasons and four (4) part-time inspectors (May – August) as workload requires over the course of this contract. The selected firm shall provide personnel local to the project site such that neither commuting nor lodging expenses are incurred. The consultant’s personnel shall work under an INDOT Area Engineer. INDOT will control the hours and staffing of these personnel who may be required to work during the winter season, work up to 12 hours per day, and/or work at night. The project duration is expected to last from November 2025 through November 2029. Some personnel may not be required for the entire duration of the project. The LOI must specify the names of the project engineer or supervisor and inspectors who will be supplying services under this contract. Personnel identified in the LOI who are not full-time employees at the time of LOI submittal shall be identified with explanation of employment status. The selected firm shall furnish all construction field testing equipment, necessary to sample and test materials in accordance with INDOT procedures. If the advertised project is cancelled or rescheduled INDOT may substitute, one for one, a similar project in the same proximity in the same District. A field overhead rate will be used for this contract. Consultants without audited field overhead rates may propose a field rate at the time of contract negotiation. The consultant’s proposal must provide the names of ALL possible personnel who might supply services on this contract. INDOT will not select design firms to provide construction inspection for the projects they design. This project may also include demolition and utility relocations. Final Construction Record is to be submitted on or before the Final Construction Record target date provided by the Seymour District Office Area Engineer when the Pre-Final Inspection is scheduled for the contract.
