Item Description
Other Indiana Corridor Planning Study Phase 2
Item Work Description
The Statewide Corridor Planning Study, Phase 2 will evaluate existing and future transportation conditions, evaluate trends, land-use changes, freight and mobility needs, consider programmed projects, recommended projects from external studies and consider state tourism impacts. Recommendations and results from analysis will be compiled into simple to use and understand electronic formats accessible internally and to our planning partners, and the general public. The study will be broad in purpose and scope with recommendations that will lead into very corridor specific treatments as funds become available. The study shall also be coordinated with existing and ongoing planning efforts including the Long Range Transportation Plan and Freight Plan, and consider other corridor specific or planning studies. The study should also consider needs/goals identified in regional MPO plans, local corridor vision statements, local policies, and master/thoroughfare plans. The study will engage Equity-focused communities (EFCs) in affected study areas and provide technical supports such as identifying EFCs based on analysis of census data and/or online survey data, provide outreach strategies to reach out to EFCs, and expected input data for collection. Work to understand any historical impacts the analyzed corridor had on community dynamics and needs. Once the inputs are collected from EFCs, they will be incorporated in the study and results provided to INDOT Planning Program Outreach Manger. The SCPS will identify needs, recommend improvement strategies for gradual implementation based on corridor performance expectations, and provide general information for long-term financial needs planning.
