The selected firm will be required to perform Underwater Bridge Inspections on all INDOT Bridges that come due for these types of inspections over a five-year period, in order to keep INDOT in compliance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards, (NBIS). This contract will entail the Underwater or In-water inspection of approximately 300 INDOT Bridge Assets and any needed re-inspections that come due over the term of the contract. Estimated number of bridges assigned: FY 2024 - 60 Bridges, 2025 - 60 Bridges, 2026 - 60 Bridges, 2027 - 60 Bridges, 2028 - 60 Bridges. An NBIS Qualified Team Leader must be present, and actively participating in all of the inspections and they must be a Professional Engineer licensed in the State of Indiana. Additionally, assignments may include the entry and inspection of structures used for water retention that qualify as confined spaces. This work will need to be performed in compliance with INDOT, FHWA, AASHTO, NBIS, and OSHA requirements. All On-Call contracts are on an as-needed basis and there is a possibility that no assignments will be made. The INDOT Project Manager and the Consultant will schedule the Scoping Meeting within two (2) weeks of the Notice of Selection. The selected consultant's fee proposal shall be due 45 calendar days after the selection date for this RFP item.
